To fight against COVID, Argentina forbids sleeping with your sex partner

This implies that sex will not be allowed because, according to the text, people who don't live together cannot meet in private houses except in circumstance where one person require  special assistance. However, for married couples and a civil union living together, the civil code will prevail.

The COVID-19 pandemic generates enormous uncertainty. Proportionate lockdowns could be a necessary and effective measure to protect public health, but proper oversight and accountability of their enforcement are essential.

This is all the more important in a country like Argentina, where the government imposed new restrictions on their people.

President unveiled new coronavirus restrictions as second wave of Covid-19 delivers another daily record of confirmed cases starting Thursday 8 April, the decision is to introduce a three-week nighttime curfew.

The measures come after a second consecutive day of record coronavirus infections – more than 22,000 on Wednesday:

In order to mitigate the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its health impact, until April 30, 2021, Argentina established GENERAL AND MANDATORY RULES OF CONDUCT.

-In all areas, both public and private, the following rules of conduct must be observed:

-People must maintain a minimum distance of TWO (2) meters between them.

-Use face masks in shared spaces.

-Ventilate the rooms adequately and constantly.

-Assiduously sanitize hands.

-Coughing or sneezing into the crook of the elbow.

-Strictly comply with the protocols of activities and the recommendations and instructions of the national and local health authorities.

The curfew will enter into force on Friday and apply from midnight to 6am every day until April 30, Fernández said in a message recorded at his official residence, where he is self-isolating after being infected with the virus himself.

In the parts of the country considered at high epidemiological and sanitary risk, social activities in private residences have been suspended, along with gatherings of more than 20 people in public spaces including those outside. Recreational sporting events of more than 10 people in closed spaces are also banned.

With this decree the government left out a social group that is quite numerous: couples and partners who do not live together.

This implies that sex will not be allowed because, according to the text, people who don’t live together cannot meet in private houses except in circumstance where one person require  special assistance. However, for married couples and a civil union living together, the civil code will prevail.

Casinos, bingos, nightclubs and other party venues have been temporarily closed in high-risk zones, and bars and restaurants must close to the public from 11pm.

Circulation of citizens is prohibited between 12am and 6am, although authorities in each jurisdiction are permitted to extend these hours according to the needs of the specific place.

In the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) there will be even more restrictions. This area includes the City of Buenos Aires plus the portion of the province of Buenos Aires that surrounds it and is the one with the highest circulation in the country.

There, the use of public transport will be limited to essential workers (such as health or security personnel, for example) and the educational community.

The government had been insisting on trying to keep schools open as they have just returned to the classroom, after a 2020 almost without attending schools in person.

The Pan American Health Organisation said last week that Argentina is one of the 10 countries with the most new infections worldwide.
